JENNY SCHEE
ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Jenny Schee (pronounced “she”). My family and friends would tell you I’m fun-loving, larger than life, kind, generous, compassionate, and just the right amount of silly. I like to think of myself as a jack-of-all-trades — I’ve dabbled in plenty of hobbies and passions, and when I set my heart on something, I manifest it with grit, energy, and purpose. Life is way too short to live the same day twice, so I’m always seeking new experiences.
I’m a proud Chinese-American woman, born and raised in the U.S. as the youngest of four to middle-class immigrant parents. My family came here chasing freedom and the “American dream,” and with that came challenges. My parents worked long, grueling hours at our Chinese restaurant, while my grandmother helped raise me and my siblings. From a young age, I carried responsibilities beyond my years — translating for my parents, navigating Western systems, and figuring things out on my own.
Those early experiences instilled in me a work ethic rooted in resilience, determination, and independence. My parents’ sacrifices became my fuel — every milestone I’ve reached, every barrier I’ve broken, is my way of honoring the life they fought so hard to give us. I faced discrimination and rejection along the way, but giving up was never an option. Those challenges shaped me into the strong, resourceful woman I am today.
CAREER
My career wasn’t a straight line — it was built on trial, error, and persistence. After graduating from DePaul with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Marketing, I didn’t have all the answers, but I knew I needed a path that challenged me and played to my strengths. That’s when I found my love for project management. Organizing, leading, solving problems, and bringing order to chaos — I was hooked.
At DePaul, one class lit the spark for advertising. My professor, Dr. Kuehl, challenged me to aim higher and even called out Leo Burnett by name. That stuck with me. Despite facing rejection after rejection, I refused to give up. The day I finally landed a role at Leo Burnett, I thought, “I did it — I made it.”
Most of my career has been spent there, working with some of the most talented, brilliant people in the industry. It’s where I honed my reputation for “always gettin’ sh*t done,” where I learned the power of collaboration, and where I cemented my love for building processes that help teams thrive.
As a project management leader, I bring curiosity, collaboration, and clarity into every room. I thrive on big, complex campaigns just as much as I do on finding small efficiencies that make day-to-day work smoother. I’ve led cross-channel advertising projects from strategy through execution — everything from content gathering to social media strategy, budgets, resourcing, and client management. I’ve also become a go-to mentor and trainer, helping onboard teammates and empowering others with the tools they need to succeed.
At the core, I believe in working with organizations that embrace change, welcome new ideas, and prioritize both people and progress. That’s where I do my best work — leading with optimism, grit, and just enough sparkle to keep things fun.

LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK
Outside of work, my family and friends would describe me as endlessly curious and always exploring new passions. I thrive on experiences that push me outside my comfort zone — whether that’s traveling to unfamiliar places, meeting people with different perspectives, or trying foods I can’t pronounce yet. Collecting memories, sharing stories, and connecting with people (friends or strangers) are some of my favorite ways to live life fully.
One of my greatest joys is baking — cookies, cakes, and cupcakes that let me channel my creativity and bring sweetness to others. What started as a passion has grown into a small business, Baking Dreams Happen, LLC. It’s still a dream in progress, but one I know I’ll fully bring to life when the timing is right. Until then, I’ll keep experimenting, learning, and creating desserts that make people smile and make their celebrations a little sweeter.
MY PERSONAL LIFE MOTTO
If life has taught me anything, it’s that it’s short and precious. Every day is a gift, and I try to approach it with gratitude, integrity, and love. Losing people I love has only deepened that perspective — reminding me to live with kindness and compassion, and to show people how important they are while I have the chance. At the end of the day, I believe we all want the same thing: to feel loved and appreciated.
Community and connection are deeply important to me. I never forget that everyone is fighting battles we may not see, which is why I choose empathy first. We’re all just navigating life’s chaos, searching for purpose, and doing our best along the way. I believe timing is everything, and that what’s meant for me will always find its way — even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else in the moment.
I live by discipline and heart in equal measure: striving to grow, evolving daily, following my dreams, and taking risks. I remind myself often — it’s okay to stumble, to forgive, to let go, to love deeply, and to do what makes me happy.
My philosophy is simple: Do you, be you, for you. If it makes YOU happy, do it.
